Welcome To BCLA

The BC Limousine Association known as BCLA is dedicated to promoting quality service and standards in the Limousine industry. BC Limousine Association (BCLA) was established by a group of limousine operators in British Columbia to unify, protect, and promote the growing limousine industry. Limousine operators are currently facing a lot of issues in this industry which need to be resolved. As an association, we want to discuss these issues with limousine operators and find the best possible ways of dealing with them. We want to call on all limousine operators in British Columbia to become a member of BCLA. As of now, no one cares for the limousine industry because all limousine operators don't have one voice. For example, Simply Taxis in Metro Vancouver don't pay any toll just because they have a voice and they fought to get the toll exemption. On the other hand, every limousine will be paying $3 each time they go over the bridge. In most of the transfer trips, the operators will go through the bridge about 4 times. In our opinion, limousines should also be exempted from this toll as they use the HOV lane with 8-12 people in each limo. That is, take 3-4 cars off the road. Charging the toll to the customer will cost them that much extra and they might avoid this eco-friendly mode of transportation. All members of the limousine industry need to come together and fight for this. The purpose of the BCLA is to enable provincial and local industry to exchange the information pertaining to such kind of issues, including regulatory and legislative issues.

BC Limousine Association (BCLA) aims to bring up all issues that are affecting the limousine operators with the BC transportation minister and Passenger Transportation Board. For instance, one of the main issues affecting operators is ban of any kind of alcohol in limos. We believe provincial GOVT need to help us educating people that you cannot drink in a limos. If adult is sitting in a limo and driver have signed agreement letting passenger know that you cannot Consume alcohol, then ticket should be given to passengers rather than a driver. As we, limousine drivers don't have authority to search anyone. We also want to request the transportation minister to allow one standard chauffeur permit to be used all over BC in. Currently, each city has its own chauffeur permit and operators are expected to have chauffeur permit for each city they will be operating in. Also, there should be only one standard vehicle for hire plate for the whole of BC rather than different vehicle for hire plates for every city. We want Passenger Transportation Board to enforce all rules and regulations. If Passenger Transportation Board wants to set minimum and maximum rates then, they need to enforce them.

We will be asking every member limo companies for their input to save the limousine industry. Limousine industry is on the verge of losing its standard thus losing the business. We strongly believe we need one strong voice, one standard for every limousine Company, one set of rules for all and enforcement from Passenger Transportation Board.
